A Parish mission is for everyone. For those who have been away from the church for some time. Perhaps since COVID, you drifted away from your faith & haven’t found your way back. Maybe some deeper hurt, burden, or misunderstanding has kept you away. Come receive Jesus’s love & mercy here.
At a parish mission, we have the opportunity to experience an extraordinary message by a dynamic national speaker, Bart Schutchs. He will share personal stories, examples & meaning of our Catholic Faith. He will bring scripture to life & move your heart to encounter Jesus in a real & personal way. A mission helps reinvigorate our lives & our parish, to move us forward from the routine of our faith to the rejoicing in our faith. This is big. This is something you want to be a part of.
It is a time of grace, a time for repentance, for change, for becoming a renewed person. You should expect to be moved & encouraged. You should expect to be given real & tangible ways to live your Catholic faith. You should expect to make new connections & relationships.
Be intentional. Put it into your calendar. Schedule this time. And bring someone along to experience the journey with you.

Bart Schuchts is the founder of Church on Fire and has been associated with the John Paul II Healing Center since its inception. Bart has been in ministry across the body of Christ for over 30 years. Bart grew up in a Catholic home yet drifted away from God while in college. Following a desperate plea to God while sitting in an NFL locker room, Bart had a powerful encounter with the Father’s love that Transformed his life forever. Bart travels the country presenting at conferences and retreats, bringing thousands into an intimate and powerful encounter with the Father’s love, transforming lives, and equipping people to live more fully into Christ’s mission. Bart’s passion is to see the Church Transformed and equipped to live into the fullness of Her 2000 year history. Bart is married to Brooke and they have four children: Hannah, Gabrielle, Kailey and Joshua. A pastor summed it up well when he said, “Bart is one of the most passionate men for God that I know... His heart is for people to live into the fullness of who they are Called to be.”
A parish mission is a time of spiritual renewal for the parish. It is like a retreat for the parish - something special and out of the ordinary. We invite a keynote speaker to lead the mission and give a series of inspirational talks centered around a theme. A parish mission is an opportunity for the parish community to grow spiritually and to experience the love of Jesus Christ in their midst.
At Lumen Christi Parish on:
A parish mission is for EVERYONE. This is for the individual who have fallen away from the Church, those who are seeking, parish members who are in the pews every Sunday and everyone in between. It is for you, your family members, your friends, your neighbor, your barista at Colectivo. It is for those of all ages. You SHOULD invite someone to come with you - do not make this journey alone!

Each session, you can expect to hear a dynamic message from Bart Schuchts who will share personal stories, examples and meaning bringing scripture to life and making our faith incredibly real and relatable. Each night will have a prayer opportunity, led either by Bart Schuchts or parish leadership. There will be time before and after for fellowship and small group conversations.
YES! You will WANT to be at all three mission talks, but if your schedule allows you to make one or two that is great too. The message each night is different and they will relate to one another but do not rely on one another. You can attend ANY of the mission talks without feeling like you have missed major content.
Each Keynote address will speak to your heart whether you are 10 or 110. Our speaker is just that good and relatable. We are not specifically advertising a night to a targeted audience but are encouraging families and individuals of all ages to attend each session.
YES! Sunday is an afternoon event (1-2:30 PM). Monday morning Bart Schuchts is giving his keynote talk at 9:30 AM in St. James Hall. His message will be repeated Monday evening.
YES! Infants are welcome and so are ‘bigger kids’ as you feel comfortable.
