GRADE FIVE
2006
Mrs. Anne Best
I teach fifth grade Religion to all the students, and also Math and Language Arts to my class. I have been teaching here since 1999 - this is my 8th year. My three daughters all went to Lumen Christi, and I loved the atmosphere and academic excellence so much that I decided to go back to school to become a teacher when my youngest was in 6th grade. I think we have a wonderful school with dedicated and committed staff and wonderful families. I have three daughters. Two are married and the last one is engaged for next summer. I have two grandchildren: Olivia who is 3 years old and Will who is 1 year old. I have depended on the prayers of our wonderful school family to pray that both of these grandchildren come home from the hospital safe and sound as they were both very premature. I will be working toward a degree in technology over the next year and a half through Cardinal Stritch.

Mrs. Ellie Quintero
I am a 5th grade teacher who has students for Math, Science, Language Arts, Reading, and Spanish. I have been here at the Mequon campus for a total of 10 years (this year will be the start of my 11th). I love teaching here because I enjoy children and being able to see their smiling faces everyday. The students here are loving, and do their best to follow Jesus. I have been married to Tony for 15 years and we have 3 children: Marco (9) and in 3rd grade here, Matteo (6) and in SR-K here, and Marisa, who is 15 months. Our family loves sports and being outdoors. The weekends are filled with soccer games, playing basketball, and riding bikes. To relax in the evening, I enjoy reading a good book.

Mrs. Jill Suhr
This is my eighth year teaching here at Lumen Christi, and my twentieth year in the classroom. In addition to teaching most subjects to my homeroom students, I teach US History to all fifth graders. My favorite thing about teaching at Lumen Christi is the ability to weave our faith and values into each of our curriculum areas throughout the day. The students are well prepared when they begin grade five, and that enables me to continue to teach them the skills and knowledge that they will need as we prepare them for middle school. I have been married for almost 28 years and have three children, all of whom attended Catholic schools in their elementary school years. My eldest son is in his second year of Law School at Marquette, my second son just began his first year at Carthage College, and my daughter is in her senior year at Homestead High School. Our Friday night tradition of "pizza and movie" has been replaced by HHS football games, concerts, or plays, as well as MU Soccer and basketball, or a trip to Carthage for a track meet, followed by dinner with Andrew and his friends. Our family enjoys camping during the summer months, and have been blessed to see much of the United States over the last 15 years. I also enjoy gardening, reading, baking and spending time with friends.
