setting with an academically challenging curriculum.
We are made up of two campuses located in Thiensville and Mequon, Wisconsin.
The Theinsville campus is the home for Kindergarten age 3 through 3rd
grade. The Mequon campus has 4th through 8th grade. We have approximately
630 families who find the volunteer opportunities.

Scores from the Iowa Test of Basic Skills revealed that, on average,
90% of Lumen Christi students scored at or above the national
average.
The Iowa Test of Basic Skills shows that “Lumen Christi has more
high-achieving students and fewer low-achieving students than do most
other schools in the nation.”
Over 85% of graduates from the class of 2000 attending local public and
private high schools received an A or B in English, Social Studies, Math
or Science for their first-semester grade. Nearly two-thirds of the students
were enrolled in Enriched or Honors English, Math or Science courses.
The Curriculum Plan has annual updates within a five-year cycle.

Mission Statement
Lumen Christi Catholic School as an integral part of our
parishes seeks to educate our children as unique individuals through a
strong academic program, while infusing the gospel values which compel
us to love and serve in our Catholic tradition.
History and Structure:
Lumen Christi Catholic School was created in 1983 by the consolidation
of St. Cecilia Parish and St. James Parish schools. Its Governance Board
is composed of both pastors and elected members from both parishes.
Parental Involvement:
The Parent Association coordinates a wide range of volunteer activities
and in conjunction with our Stewardship office raises more than $100,000 annually to support our school.
Staff Development:
All staff members participate in ongoing Professional Development of
more than 180 hours every 5 years, in addition to meeting Personnel Standards
for Religious Education in Catholic Schools.
Class Size Policy:
Jr. Kindergarten (age 4)*: Maximum 25 students
Sr. Kindergarten (age 5): Maximum 18 students
Grades 1, 2, 3 Maximum 25 students
Grades 4, 5 Maximum 26 students
Grades 6, 7, 8 Maximum 28 students
*Two teachers per classroom
Admissions:
Application for registration for all grades is held in late January/early
February. All Junior Kindergarten students must be screened before admission
to our school. Please refer to the Admission Policy in the Lumen Christi
Catholic School Parent/Student Handbook for more details regarding other
factors which will be considered in the admissions process.
