The goal of catechesis is

(General Directory For Catechesis,71). Therefore, catechesis
has six fundamental tasks:
- Promoting knowledge of the faith
- Liturgical education
- Moral formation
- Teaching to pray
- Education for community life
- Missionary initiation (to equip Christians to witness to
Christ in daily life)
In light of this, we believe that Catholic
Formation is an ongoing process, ideally integrated throughout the
entire life of the parish. All Christians—children,
young people, and adults alike—are called to be learners and
seekers of truth, which is why our initiation into the Catholic
faith community does not end with the sacrament of Confirmation.
Faith development is a lifelong process that calls us to an ever
deeper, ever changing, ever more intimate relationship with Christ,
and with our brothers and sisters. As Christians we are continually
called to conversion.
It is our hope that by working in partnership with members of our
parish families, we can offer programming that supports, encourages,
and inspires our children, young people, and adults in life’s
ongoing faith journey.
